May Mood Board 2024
As we enter the month of May, I find myself enveloped in the allure of Paris and the best of springtime in the city. Amidst the cobblestone streets, you’ll find busy terraces packed with Parisians enjoying the more frequently occurring blue skies and sunny weather. Paris beckons with endless possibilities for creativity and exploration during the month of May.
Paris in May
“In Paris in May, nature offers her most tender and delicate gifts.” – Jean Paul Sartre
Raffia sneakers. I was just shopping with my mom trying to help her find stylish sneakers for Paris, and we came across these from Dolce Vita. I love that they have a comfortable sole with a supportive wedge, yet they don’t look like your typical sneaker or gym shoe. They’re perfect for spring and summer. Shop here.
The Outdoor Table. This cookbook isn’t new, but it’s new for me and it has me so excited for outdoor dining. It’s by Alanna O’Neil, and it’s full of delicious recipes like jambon melon, pasta with cherry tomatoes, and an incredible fig salad that has me drooling! You can find the book here.
Raffia handbag. In Paris, as soon as spring rolls around, you can see women everywhere doting a straw tote or handbag. This raffia handbag is a convenient and stylish, crossbody take on the straw handbag. I love that it’s structured and sleek, but done in a texture and color-tone that still makes it feel casual and light for the warmer seasons. Shop here.
French 75. While it’s not quite aperol spritz season yet, I do find myself craving something refreshing, cool, and bubbly. The French 75 cocktail not only checks all those boxes, but it’s got the tantalizing flavor of fresh lemon in it, making it one of my favorite cocktails to not only order at the bar, but shake up at home too! Find the recipe on the blog here.
Bistro tile mug. I’m a big fan of Anthropologie’s bistro tile collection, and thankfully, they’ve come out with a ‘Mom’ one just in time for Mother’s Day! The metallic, black and white tile motif is quintessentially Parisian, and would make for a lovely Mother’s Day gift for the French-loving Mom. Shop here.
Coffee table inspo. My new apartment in Paris has a black fireplace mantle in the living room, which normally wouldn’t be my first choice (I’d rather have marble!). But I’m finding a lot of style inspiration from Aimée Mazzenga’s home and the way she styled her living room coffee table with her black mantlepiece as a backdrop. I’ll definitely be picking up some French lilacs for mine as well! You can see more photos of her home here.
