The Perfect Gift for the Holiday Hostess

THIS POST WAS DEVELOPED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH DONSUEMOR, HOWEVER, ALL THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS EXPRESSED HERE ARE MY OWN.

The holiday season is usually a time for gathering with family and friends, celebrating with good food and drinks and plenty of gifts. A simple stroll through a local market or mall will show you just how prominent gift-giving is this time of year. Whether it’s for the party hostess or a neighbor, I love gifting Donsuemor’s madeleines.

As a foodie with plenty of food-loving friends, I love sharing with the people around me. Rather than pick up a holiday gift basket that has items in it that may not be fresh or tasty, I pick up Donsuemor’s madeleines because I know I can count on them to be high-quality, free of preservatives and artificial ingredients, and 100% delicious.

Donsuemor conveniently offers their traditional madeleines online on their and in Costco stores. They’re a treat that not only Francophiles enjoy but anyone who loves sweets.

Whenever I pick up a box as a gift, I pick one up for myself too. The traditional madeleines are individually wrapped, which is one of my favorite things about them.

The individual wrappers make the madeleines so convenient to take on the go to work or keep in my bag as a snack for those times I get stuck in an appointment or meeting.

Around the holidays, if I’m attending a party, I wrap up the madeleine box to spruce it up and make it look like a special gift just for the hostess. To do this, I simply wrap the box in some cellophane, then tie the cellophane together with some ribbon.

To give the madeleines a glamorous touch, I usually use some kind of gift wrap toppers, such as an ornament and/or small, decorative tree fillers. Here, I went with some silver ribbon, a frosty tree ornament, and a glittery snowflake tree filler.

If I’m hosting a party myself, I typically place a tray of unwrapped madeleines on the coffee table as an after dinner, sweet bite.

Another thing I like to do when I’m the one hosting the party is place a big basket with a bow on it next to my front door and fill the basket with the individually wrapped madeleines. I then place a little note that says “Thanks for coming! Please take one,” next to the basket.

That way, guests can grab a little to-go treat on their way out the door. Everyone loves it!

If you have little ones and want to leave a delectable treat for Papa Noel, then you can also set out a couple of madeleines just for him on Christmas Eve.

As one of Papa Noel’s helpers in past years, I can say from personal experience that they are a scrumptious option that he and his helpers approve of!
