  1. Bonjour! Thank you for this podcast! I enjoyed it. So many of my friends and others flippantly say ‘I am going to move to…’ and really don’t think about what it takes to do that and how that will require a lot of discomfort, shifting perspectives and letting go of American-centered expectations on how one should exist anywhere. In fact, it bothers me that many Americans do become ex-Pats who can afford to do so and then turn around and live in American communities never actually becoming a part of the country or culture! Anyway, I appreciate your perspective and aligned with what I thought would be the case. I did read David Leibovitz’ book about his adventures in living and working in Paris years ago! Wow! That was a hilarious but poignant overview of what it is like to become an ex-Pat in France. That all said, I would love to visit Paris and France again. If I ever was able to move to Europe I would likely move to England . I have close friends living there. But as a retiree on a limited income, I will be living in my beautiful California, and enjoy good visits! Thank you again for your wonderful podcast! ❤️
