I always enjoy your podcasts and the subjects you choose. I agree with your vision of reducing fear and taking steps to do what you want to experience in your life. I have lived in five states, each with unique charm and experiences. I even lived for a while on a ranch, which was a completely different lifestyle than I had ever been accustomed to. I’ve also had the chance to explore the Caribbean, living there for a time, with its stunning beaches and vibrant culture, and traveled through the US, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, each offering its own set of adventures.
However, I’ve never been to France. I had three opportunities, and the plans fell through each time. It’s not something I want to miss out on in my lifetime. So, although I’m near retirement age, I am open to more adventure and am looking into France as a retirement strategy.
I’ll be in Paris with my adult son in October to see if I get the right vibes. If I do, I’ll imagine what it will feel like, learn more about the different ways to accomplish such a move and see how it all falls into place. I’ve already done some research, and I’m taking French language lessons (as best as I can). I’m living it as I go, becoming it.
And you’re right; one doesn’t have to have bags of money. I am certainly not wealthy in dollars, but I am in the spirit, and there is always a way, if you put one foot in front of another, to experience life on your terms.
