With the holidays fast approaching, I thought a holiday gift guide for the Francophiles in your life would be the perfect thing to share. Whether you’re shopping for a gift for yourself, girlfriends, mothers, wives, daughters, you’re bound to find something to love.
Gift Guide for Her
Instead of simply sharing trending gifts for 2019, I wanted to share a collection of items that I truly love as a Francophile myself. Many of these items I already own, but some of them I’ve simply had on my wish list for awhile now.
Instead of sharing a bunch of items that have the Eiffel Tower plastered all over them, I’m sharing a selection of Christmas gifts and holiday gifts that capture the essence of French culture.
Some of my favorite items include the Le Creuset dutch oven, the wool scarf (every Francophile needs a good scarf), and the macaron mat. As a culinary instructor and avid baker, the macaron mat is one of my favorite things to use when making French macarons.
By the way, if you’re looking for a festive macaron recipe to make for the holidays, make sure you create my chocolate peppermint macarons! They are seriously to-die-for!
Or, you can always buy a box of the limoges macarons. How precious are those? That would be a beautiful gift for a woman of any age, whether it’s a little girl or your grandmother!
I also just ordered that Eiffel Tower ornament from Pottery Barn; I can’t wait to put it up on my tree. The baguette ornament is just as darling and, along with the apron, would be perfectly fitting for the bakers in your life.
You’ll notice there are some beauty products there in my display of xmas gift ideas. I’m actually not one to be a big beauty product junkie, but I adore those products on the wish list and use them all the time.
The Korres guava body lotion is available here in the States, but I first saw it in a French pharmacy and fell in love with the scent and creaminess. It’s fantastic for dry winter skin.
If you or someone you know also suffers from dry skin, the Caudalie serum is also a must. This is another French pharmacy staple that’s sold here in the States and I never go a single night without dabbing it all over my face and neck.
As for the Christian Dior “Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet” eau de toilette, expect a lovely scent filled with notes of citrus, floral, and white musk. It’s sweet and light, yet has a touch of warmth and spice to round it out. This is also a go-to for me each day.
